System requirements for MONET software

MONET software supports Cytoscape version 2.x; verified to work in 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, and 2.5. Since we are providing computing power from our supercomputing center for network inference, MONET doesn't require much powerful system, but just the system which is able to operate the Cytoscape software; Cytoscape developers recommend a recent computer (1GHz CPU or higher) with a high-end graphics card and at least 512MB of free physical RAM. If the inference is performed in local PC, the system requirements depend on the size of the data that users want to analyze. We recommend the system described above with Cytoscape.

Installation Instruction for Windows System

1. If you execute the downloaded installation file, you can see the screen below.

2. Specify the plugin directory of Cytoscape which you have installed on your computer.

3. Start Installation by clicking 'Install' button.

4. The installation procedure is finished. Press the 'Finish' button.

If the procedure is successfully completed, MONET.jar, MONETHttpLib.jar, MONET folder should be in the plugin directory of Cytoscape(ex. C:\Program Files\Cytoscape-v2.3\plugins) like the screenshot below.

Installation Instruction for Linux/Unix System

To install MONET software, you just need to execute install_MONET.sh like the example below.

$ install_MONET.sh [path]

[path] : absoulte path of the plugin directory of the installed Cytoscape
ex> /home/monet/Cytoscape-v2.3/plugin/

,or alternatively you can copy MONET.tar file to [path] and extract it in the [path] so that MONET.jar and MONETHttpLib.jar should be in the [path] and MONET directory should be a subdirectory of the [path].
